**GEOTECHNICAL / GEO-ENVIROMENTAL CONSULTANT JOB SPECIFICATION**

This is an excellent opportunity to join a Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental Consultancy within a highly regarded, long established (51 years), specialist Site Investigation group of companies with offices nationwide.

Sub Surface are looking for an ambitious Geotechnical / Geo-Environmental Consultant to join our Consultancy team based at the Head Office in Preston working on a wide range of projects.

We are very flexible and are happy to consider all levels of experience from one year to through to Principals for the role. Since you can always teach skills, the most important characteristics for Sub Surface are having the right attitude, work ethic, drive, and the willingness to learn.

Your title (Graduate, Senior, Principal, etc.) will be determined based on your knowledge and experience.
- Writing Phase 1 Desk Study Reports, Phase 2 Ground Investigations Reports (foundations, retaining structures, coal mining risk assessments, earthworks, roads, slope stability, contamination analysis, GQRA, DQRAs, waste classification, ground gas risk assessments, etc.), Phase 3 Remediation Statements and Phase 4 Validation Reports on a wide range of projects.
- Logging soil strata and rock cores to BS5930 and Eurocode 7.
- Occasional site works when required.
- Assist with business and continuing professional development of all aspects of the company, its employee’s and technical services and reports.
- Liaison with Clients, Planning Officers, Contaminated Land Officers, Environment Agency, etc.
- The designing of investigations for remediation schemes followed by validation.
- Mentoring and overseeing junior staff. (Senior, Principals roles)
- Providing geotechnical and geo-environmental technical expertise and advice to the Group’s area offices and Clients on a wide range of projects. (Senior, Principals roles)
- Checking of reports (Principals only)

The main conditions of the employment are:

- Full time contract (Office Based)
- Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm (37.5 hours per week)
- 24 days holiday per year plus bank holidays.

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£52,000.00 per year
