Your new company
An opportunity to work with a leader in the Broadcasting and telecommunication space. The client is a well-established firm with almost 10million UK customers and service to more than half of the UK's homes. This client is a well respected innovator withinthe industry and are known to push the barriers of what customers have access to. Your new role This is a hands off role which will allow you to be part of and lead a team responsible for:

- The support and creation of infrastructure designs for portfolio projects.
- To be a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) relating to Data Centre infrastructure technologies - in particular complex project solutions relating to servers, virtualization, storage (including backup & archive), cloud technology and logical network configurations.
- Engaging with Customers, stakeholders and peers to provide lead consultancy and guidance when required.
- To capture planned approach for technical delivery in relevant design documentation and to review with peers in the delivery function to gain their review and acceptance.
- Support technical procurement activity where required

What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in infrastructure architecture and solution design, preferably strategic and analytical experience gained within a large commercial environment.
- Excellent technical skills in modern data centre technologies. Desired skill sets include but are not limited to:

- server hardware
- server virtualization (VMware, containers, micro services);
- storage knowledge (NAS, SAN, RAID concepts, file storage, block storage);
- cloud technologies (Azure, GCP and or AWS);
- foundation services (automation, monitoring, asset management, security);
- multi-tenancy concepts (Cisco ACI, Juniper Contrail, VMware NSX).
- A solid background in network concepts is also required including concepts of SDN, IPv4, IPv6.
- experience with databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server) in a High Availability configuration
- experience with security concepts, firewalls, compliancy and ISO 27000/27001.
- Experience of project management techniques and methodologies including planning, resource allocation, prioritization, delivery and escalation.
- Experience of analysing, assessing and resolving complex technology requirements, problems and issues.
