JOB TITLE: Bakery Apprentice
REPORTING TO: Bakery Manager
JOB PURPOSE: This is a broad role which involves a diverse set of skills, abilities and responsibility.
Successful completion of the program which will lead to award of SVQ qualification as a baker.
To work with a team to providing training and support for adults with a learning disability.
SALARY SCALE: £4.30 - £8.91 per hour (age dependant)

- Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to people with learning disabilities
EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Good general education
- Commitment to training and development
- Customer service
- Computer literate
- Sense of Humour
- Flexibility and willingness to work out side job description
Desired:
- Knowledge basic food hygiene
- Mandatory training qualifications e.g. fire safety, first aid, food hygiene, manual handling and health & safety awareness
- Knowledge Learning disability

Required
- Satisfactory police/ disclosure check
- Commitment to the aims and objectives of the Aberdeen Day Project
- A commitment to undertaking training and development as required
- Two satisfactory references
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Training and development:
1. Attend mandatory training courses on or off site as and when required.
2. Commitment to achieving SVQ award as a baker
3. Work as part of the bakery production team and other areas of the business as required
4. Work within the aims of the Aberdeen Day Project and related services, and thus demonstrate an understanding and commitment to people with learning disabilities
Health & Safety and Legislation:
5. Abide to the breadmakers health and safety policies and procedures.
6. Report faulty appliances, damaged equipment or any potential hazards.
7. Promote safe working practice within The Aberdeen Day Project sites.
General:
8. Work in a team, contributing to effective team working and deliver information in reviews of service delivery.
9. Promote and ensure the good reputation of Aberdeen Day Project and related sites.
10. Maintain SVQ records in line with organisational policies and procedures.
11. Carry out any other task that may be reasonably assigned to you.
