Cranleigh STEM is recruiting a Buyer to join an innovative clean energy business at its state-of-the-art facility in Surrey.

You will work as part of a cross-functional, highly motivated, dynamic, and rapidly growing team of individuals to develop and produce hydrogen-flying solutions and fuel cell systems.

**_ The Company has entered an exciting growth phase and is scaling up its operational capacity to meet the demand for its zero-emission systems. They are looking for enthusiastic individuals to help deliver the company’s long-term success._**

**The Role**:
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for all purchasing-related activities for new products and projects whilst supporting day-to-day procurement activities.

Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, creating, and maintaining an inventory, quality assurance and liaising with stock control and goods teams and management. The buyer will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand.

**Responsibilities**:

- Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible prices and terms.
- Maintain positive relationships with existing suppliers and identify new potential suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and take corrective action when necessary.
- Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure that materials and services are delivered on time and to the required quality.
- Analyse data and use it to inform purchasing decisions.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure that they are sufficient to meet demand.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies within the supply chain.

**Requirements**:

- Experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with Sage 200.
- A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is advantageous.
