Greatdays Travel Group is a leading, family run tour operator based in Altrincham, Cheshire and has been established for 40 years. We are seeking a team member to join us in the Accounts Assistant role at our offices in Altrincham, South Manchester.

You will be an enthusiastic person with a keen interest in being part of maintaining the importance of the finance function in the success of the business.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, and working very closely with them, you will be liaising internally and externally to ensure timely and accurate sales, purchase and general ledger processing for our Packaged Tours, Day Trips and business overheads. This can sometimes be a fast paced department, working to short but manageable deadlines which requires strong attention to detail and organisation skills

This is a full time office based role Monday to Friday.

**Are you the right person for the role?**
- Travel trade experience in finance an advantage but not essential
- A minimum of five years experience in a finance role
- Very strong attention to detail
- Very confident in using IT systems and Excel spreadsheets
- Confident and friendly telephone manner
- Excellent communications skills
- Strong planning, administration and organisational skills
- Ability to work within tight deadlines
- Ability to work well within a team or alone
- Self motivated and able to use your own initiative
- Reside in South Manchester or Cheshire

**What will my role look like?**
- Sales Invoicing according to agreed contracts and deadlines
- Monitoring of tour and payment deadlines with internal liaison
- Bank Reconciliations of multiple accounts including currency accounts
- Daily Cash Allocation, banking and cash flow recording
- Credit Control with strict terms
- Purchase Ledger and Supplier Payments in the UK and overseas
- Maintaining diaries of required pre-payments and foreign exchange reviews
- Other office duties
