**About the role**

Working Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, you’ll be providing competent advice to the business, monitoring & contributing to compliance within UK/EU legislation, whilst adhering to company standards as defined in the DFDS Safety Management System framework. Based in a very busy operational port environment, acting as a point of contact for departmental managers on matters of occupational/operational health and safety as well as environmental issues.

You will be responsible for:
Coordinating with front line managers to ensure the safe operation of all elements of the DFDS SMS through guidance and support

Provide support and guidance in the investigation of accidents in the investigation of incidents & accidents ensuring they are investigated thoroughly, and root cause is established and acted upon to avoid recurrence.

Undertake compliance checks against company standards on matters of HSE ensuring full compliance is maintained and areas for continuous improvement established.

Represent the companies interests to local level SHE meetings with colleagues and key stakeholders, ensuring the risk profile and business requirements meet legislative needs.

Monitor safety performance and trends; proactively initiating campaigns with areas to address concerns.

**About you**

You shall be joining a forward-thinking team, who will ensure your integration into the department is seamless and accommodating. We require an engaging individual who can dynamically adapt to work, manage their own workload commitments, to ensure delivery of the collective strategic goals, as well as a NEBOSH General Certificate (essential). Attending various meetings, working groups & contributing as directed by Senior HSE Advisor or Head of Safety, Security & Environment.

Practical experience in an occupational and operational HSE field is a requirement for this role, along with a previous background within the logistics or port sector which is desirable.
