Context

The Women & Families Resource centre is registered charity based in Wolverhampton which supports and empowers women & children. We run four events and a few workshops annually which involve service users, partners and various stakeholders within the community.

**Purpose**

We are looking for outgoing and self-motivated individuals who have a proactive approach to work. As an event planner, you'll have responsibility for putting on a range of events. You'll manage the whole process from the planning stage, right through to running the actual day itself and the post-event evaluation.

The role is very hands-on and will involve working as part of a team.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- liaise with management to determine exact event requirements;
- produce detailed proposals for event (for example, timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets);
- Agreeing to and managing a budget;
- Securing and booking a suitable venue or location;
- manage and coordinate suppliers and all event logistics (for example, venue, catering, travel);
- liaise with sales and marketing team to publicise and promote the event;
- manage all pre-event planning, e.g. organising guest speakers and delegate packs;
- Planning room layouts and the entertainment programme, scheduling workshops and demonstrations;
- Selling sponsorship/stand/exhibition space to potential exhibitors/partners;
- Liaising with clients and designers to create a brand for the event and organising the production of tickets, posters, catalogues and sales brochures;
- Attend community functions to network and identify potential opportunities
- coordinate suppliers, handle client queries and troubleshoot on the day of the event to ensure that all runs smoothly and to budget;

Required:

- A minimum of six months commitment.
- Strong interest in non
- profits and giving back to the society.
- Good computer and internet research skills.
- Ability to work independently.
