Fitness Assistant-allander Leisure Centre

**Job Summary**:
**Please note that salary will be pro-rated for part-time hours.**

***We are seeking to appoint a full time Fitness Assistant who will be responsible for delivering the day to day operations of THEGYM fitness facility within Allander Leisure Centre. You will be required to undertake a range of duties within the THEGYM fitness facility, which will include client consultations, client 1-1 programming, group inductions, fitness assessments and the instruction of small group classes. You will also be required to ensure that the facility is maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness & repair. The Fitness Assistant will be responsible for the overseeing & general safety & behaviour of the public to prevent injury, misuse & damage to the facility.

This post will be on a Part time basis over a 3 week rota.

Possession of a recognised Level 2 Gym Instructors Qualification is essential as is the ability to work well with the public. A Health & Fitness related qualification would be an advantage.

The post holder will be required to work outside normal hours, including evenings, weekends & public holidays.

PVG membership scheme will apply.

The following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteria

In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by HR Services Lead.

Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.
