We are currently recruiting for an
** Employee Relations Advisor (6-month Secondment) to be based at our Market Drayton site. **You will be accountable for delivering high quality, consistent and compliant ER advice by supporting and guiding Line Managers and Employees through the process of disciplinary, grievance and absence.
**ER Advisor, key responsibilities will include**:
- Act as the first HR point of contact for Line Managers and Investigating Managers for disciplinary, grievance and absence issues.
- Ensure fair and consistent case management by guiding and directing Line Managers through disciplinary, grievance and absence procedures from a central HR function.
- Offer advice to Line Managers and Investigating Managers on a broad range of ER issues.
- Escalate high risk cases to local HR teams, as appropriate.
- Work with local HR teams and business stakeholders on specific ER issues, “hotspots” or trends.
- Attend operational sites, as and when required, to build key business relationships and improve ER service provision.
- Actively promote a 'right first time' approach by following HR policies and processes and therefore reducing the risk of litigation.
- Manage expectations by using the most appropriate method of communication.
- Seek advice and guidance from Senior ER Manager if any risks to the business are identified.
- Maintain and update all appropriate case notes, records and tasks within the appropriate case management system.
- Complete all associated activities regarding case management, including the issuing of invite and outcome letters and creating investigation packs.
- Assist when required in collating employee information and preparation for employment tribunals.
- Ensure governance & compliance of HR data through the use of document management systems and tools.
- Manage cases in line with internal SLAs and KPIs.
- Remain up to date on relevant employment legislation to ensure appropriate advice is provided and to understand implications of advice.
- Support wider HR team with key projects and activities as and when required.
- Promote continuous improvement by challenging the 'status quo', seeking and recommending improved ways of working.
- Provide awareness of how employee relation cases impact the overall business objectives.
**ER Advisor - Key skills & experience**
- Educated to 'A' Level standard or equivalent.
- Qualified or studying towards CIPD Level 5 is desirable.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in ER or HR Advisory role.
- Knowledge of relevant employment legislation.
- High attention to detail and levels of accuracy.
- Proven ER experience including advising on conduct, capability and grievance issues.
- Experience working in a high-volume environment.
- High level of IT skills including MS Office Excel, Power Point and Word.
- Ability to 'think outside the box' when under pressure / not afraid to challenge and offer solutions and recommendations.
- Excellent planning and organising skills and highly motivated.
- Adaptable and capable of multi-tasking in a busy environment.
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication skills including face to face, written and oral.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
