**Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, Remote/Office - High Wycombe, £52,000pa plus benefits**:
A rare opportunity has arisen for a **Senior Mechanical Design Engineer** to join a high performing engineering design team within a high tech - low volume scientific instrumentation manufacturer based in High Wycombe. The role is hybrid, withyou splitting your week between the office and home on a 3/2 basis. The engineering team has a very small turnover of staff, and as such, **Senior Mechanical Design**Engineer roles do not come up very often as the work is incredibly technical, very interesting and varied.

On a day-to-day basis the**Senior Mechanical Design Engineer**will createMechanical designs and the detailing of high precision new parts, sub-assemblies for customer solutions. You will work closely with technologists, systems engineers andsoftware developers to optimise engineering solutions, and specify and document designs including, requirement specifications, layouts, detail & assembly drawings, Bills Of Material, etc.

**About You**

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following:

- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Significant experience of designing precision engineered products for volume and small batch manufacture.
- Experience using 3D CAD
- Ideally - Experience using SolidWorks 3D CAD.
- Ability to bring a thorough engineering approach to new designs
- Ability to design precision engineered products and assemblies through all stages of development from concept to final published drawings.
- Selection of appropriate manufacturing processes for machined, sheet metal and moulded components
- Good understanding of the requirements for designing Ultra High Vacuum compatible instruments.
- Good understanding of thermodynamics and the various methods of heat transfer.
- Experience of entering product data and processing Engineering Change Orders using a PLM or ERP system
