Premises Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen within The Estates Department; we are looking to recruit a Facilities Officer on a full time (37 hours) permanent basis.

Our work stands out from other departments, as we provide and maintain all the buildings and associated infrastructure across the force, no project or job is the same.

As a Facilities officer you will work closely with other estates staff to move, deliver and/or collect and transport equipment and confidential waste as directed. You will use your handyman knowledge to carry out basic maintenance across the force buildings and grounds, this will include basic electrical, plumbing and construction tasks (shelving etc). You will ensure that police station yards and curtilage, including garden areas are kept clean and tidy and clear of obstructions to include on an adhoc basis gritting and the clearance of ice and snow and undertake other miscellaneous duties, to support the operational functions, i.e. investigating faults, moving furniture, taking rubbish to the tip, litter picking, etc.

This is a physical role and requires a lot of manual handling in terms of moving furniture and other such items, the role description should develop along with the changing demands of policing reflected in Force Objectives and priorities.

For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
