Position Description:
**At a Glance**

**Legrand **has an exciting opportunity for an **Assembler 1 **to join the **Data Center Power & Control Division Starline Team** in **Reading, UK.** The Assembler 1 manufactures and assembles a variety of configurations of mechanical and basic electrical assemblies used in electrical distribution systems.

**What Will You Do?**
- Understand and follow all aspects of health, safety and risk management as set out by the company.
- Read and interpret shop drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs) to determine component parts and assembly sequences of electromechanical units.
- Make electrical connections according to specifications.
- Assemble parts, and position, align, and fasten assemblies, subassemblies, using hand tools and power tools.
- Modify parts by drilling, tapping, countersinking, etc. machine tools, power and pneumatic hand tools.
- Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
- Measure parts to determine tolerances, using tape measures and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Attach labels and mark identifying information on parts.
- Uses computer programs such as Syteline and eFlex regularly throughout the shift.
- Undertake and complete all company mandated training.

Qualifications:
**Skills/Knowledge/Abilities**
- Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Ability to operate cordless hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to read standard tape measure.
- Ability to work in a cohesive team environment.
- Capacity to demonstrate retention of knowledge and products.
- Highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy.
- Proficient product knowledge.
- Ability to demonstrate consistent high quantity completion while maintaining high quality products.

**Personal Qualities/Behaviors**
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility /versatility combined with initiative, drive and ability to meet deadlines (eFlex timings).
- Good interpersonal skills.
