**Salary: £13.68 plus Marshal premium**

**Hours: 40 hours per week including paid breaks across 4 days working 10 hour shifts.**

**Shifts: 22:00 - 08:00. and 21:30 -07:30**

**About the role**

To act as an important linchpin between several areas of the business by performing a number of duties in and around the yard.

These activities ensure the effective inbound reception of vans returning from routes, aid the efficient loading of vans for outbound routes, perform minor maintenance and interior cleaning of vans, support the fleet team in identifying and transporting vans for off-site maintenance, as well as ensuring the overall cleanliness and organisation of the physical yard area itself. All applicants will require a satisfactory DBS check on file.

**Key Responsibilities**

Check the vans for damage, temperature, fuel levels, and direct the vans to the relevant parking location in the yard. Inform the fleet team of any defects requiring their attention through the relevant process.- Ensure that vans are parked correctly and efficiently in order that the warehouse dispatch team can easily collect vans and bring to the dock doors for loading.- Aid the fleet team with moving vans to off-site maintenance areas.- Ensure that each CSTM departing for a route has all the portable van assets that he or she requires for the effective completion of the route.- Schedule for and execute the cleaning of the rear interior of the vans on a regular basis. They will also be responsible for occasional cleaning of the cab area of vans.- Perform minor maintenance/upkeep duties on vans.- Responsible for keeping the yard clean and tidy and usable by the various vehicles. This would include gritting in the winter.- Any other tasks required by the business from time to time to ensure the effective operation of the yard area and/or the van fleet.
