RSPCA's Newbrook Farm, Frankley, Birmingham is currently recruiting for a part time Maintenance Worker to provide planned and routine maintenance work across a number of animal welfare buildings.

The site occupies a rural setting of 72 acres. Our expert team provides life saving veterinary care to thousands of animals rescued by RSPCA frontline officers. They also provide vital support to rescued animals being cared for at RSPCA centres.

Here's some of the key work that you will be doing...
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), boilers, water checks.
- Assisting and operating control of external contractors.
- Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
- Site maintenance, lawn mowing, strimming. Weeding, pruning and general upkeep of borders and fields.
- Check control panels, Perform minor fixes.
- General tidying and cleaning of the site.
- Vehicle care and general maintenance/cleaning.
- PAT testing (if qualified)
- Cleaning/clearance of grounds
- Health and safety inspections.

What we are looking for in you...
- Proven experience as a maintenance worker other similar position
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
- Experience using hand and electrical tools
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Collaborate with workers and other professionals requiring maintenance repairs
- Reporting to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues
- Experience in a relevant trade would be an advantage and knowledge in health and safety is essential
- Experience of use of a wide range of hand and power tools, land management equipment and their care and maintenance
- Experience in managing maintenance tasks as they arise and prioritising
- A full valid driving licence
