**JOB TITLE**: Handyman/woman (House Supervisor)

**RESPONSIBLE TO**: House Manager

**Contract**: Permanent (Full time)

**HOURS**: 8 Hour Shift - Mainly 0900 to 1700 Hrs however maybe required to complete alternatively timed shifts. Plus occasional paid overtime and weekends as and when required.

**The Role**:
The role of Handyman/woman or House Supervisor is critical to maintaining the high standards that our members, guests and staff expect. A hands-on approach, attention to detail, good communication skills, security and safety awareness and being a team player are paramount. The role is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, any 5 days out of 7 including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Please note overtime may be required but is not guaranteed.

**Main Duties**:

- Carry out reactive plumbing and electrical repair tasks including access control, changing light bulbs, resetting breakers, fixing blockages and leaks.
- Set up and carry out pre-planned maintenance including pest control, legionella risk management, emergency lighting, grounds maintenance and cleaning.
- Maintain soft services including carpentry, painting and decorating, furniture and equipment repairs, cleaning catering equipment, hanging pictures, fitting shelves and installing window locks.
- Conduct regular inspections of plumbing, heating and electrical equipment and undertake professional repairs where possible.
- Setup and carry out a PAT testing programme.
- Monitor and plan scheduled maintenance work on fabric and equipment as required.
- Prepare for, oversee and directly supervise maintenance contractors working in the Club, ensuring outsourced contractors comply with NLC policies and procedures. Review and manage RAMS (risk assessment and method statements) for external contractors coming on site.
- Create and maintain a Club-wide maintenance log.
- Source and purchase equipment.
- Write risk assessments.
- Create a database of preferred suppliers.
- Develop a good working relationship and work in conjunction with the Hotel’s maintenance team.
- Support the security regime of the Clubhouse.
- Monitor the Clubhouse for health and safety risks and acting when required.
- Test and maintain fire and safety equipment.
- Provide regular updates to the House Manager on infrastructure, services and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Ensuring appropriate documentation is up to date.
- Maintain equipment and parts inventory.
- Ensure that resources stocks are kept safe and up to date.
- Provide Duty Supervisor cover as part of the Duty Supervisor rota.
- Carry out any other reasonable duty delegated to you by Management.
- Attend all required statutory and departmental training.
- Assist colleagues in other departments as required.
- Adhere to all Company rules and regulations as explained to you at induction.

**Experience, knowledge and qualifications**
- Good working knowledge of healthy and safety, risk assessments and RAMS.
- Experience of working with PPM schedules.
- PAT testing experience desirable
- Electrical, plumbing or mechanical qualifications and/or experience is advantageous.
