Recovery Worker

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
As a Recovery Worker, you will contribute to successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our Residents and Participants back into the community. Providing pathways, support, and appropriate interventions that will enable successful resettlements, and deliver to achieve more safer, integrated communities for our stakeholders.
Rota: Monday to Sunday, including evenings and bank holidays
**ABOUT THE SERVICE**
Southampton Way is a short-term (up to two years) supported living service for people who have an enduring mental health diagnosis and who require and can benefit from, the help and support offered. It consists of14 self-contained flats and one crisis room for adult men with medium to high-level support needs who require 24-hour supported accommodation, helping them to continue to live in the community and to reduce the risk of admission to hospital. Our main objective is to support our residents to attain stability in their personal circumstances and to help them to develop their confidence and daily living skills in order to enable a move to lower-support housing or more independent living. We work with local voluntary groups and peer mentors to facilitate residents’ community engagement. Examples, include supporting residents to enrol in local colleges, leisure centres, day centres, CGL programmes to address substance misuse and voluntary work

**OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support a caseload of Residents and Participants (R&P), contribute to the development of support plans, risk assessments and reviews.
- Participate in, and encourage R&Ps to participate in the running and development of projects, initiatives, training and volunteering.
- Ensure R&Ps understand their rights and responsibilities, with access to the right tools and resources to support them back into society and build networks.
- Develop strong internal and external relationships.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support, including life skills training.
- Recognise signs of deteriorating mental health and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent a crisis.
- You may need to attend appointments alongside R&Ps when required.
- Admin duties will vary, including using our Salesforce Inform system to update records ongoing.
Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.
**KEY CRITERIA**
What we are looking for:
- IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience is required
- Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, including in the criminal justice field, mental health, and/or substance misuse **or** a good understanding of the sector
