Seven Social Care is looking for a Homelessness Officer to start a new role in Macclesfield, Cheshire. This is initially a temporary post for 3 months with the possibility of placement extension.

**The role**:
The role will involve working within the Relief Team as a Homelessness Relief Officer. You will be providing comprehensive assessments of people who are homeless in accordance with the Homelessness Reduction Act and Part VII of the Housing Act.

The base for the role is either Crewe or Macclesfield, however you will be predominantly home based. Travel across Cheshire East and attendance to council office(s) is required. You will be provided full IT equipment, training, connectivity to the team andwider services, and managerial support.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Deliver superior quality Homelessness and Housing Solutions and Advice Services that are customer centric and have high regard for equality, diversity, understanding and respect for people and their individual circumstances.

Ensure that those applicants for whom the Council has a statutory duty to provide temporary accommodation are placed into accommodation that best meets their needs and in strict accordance with legislation and guidance.

**Applicant Requirements**:
**Experience**:Good knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation, including the Housing Act 1996 (as amended by the Homelessness Act 2002), Localism Act 2011, Welfare Reform, Safeguarding and the Children's Act and Homelessness ReductionAct 2017.

**Compliance**:Up to date enhanced DBS on the update service, Right to work in the UK.

**Hours**:37 hours a week
