The Neonatal Service at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit caring for some of the smallest babies and most vulnerable babies in the Yorkshire and Humber region. An opportunity has arisen for a housekeeper to join our team. We are looking for an honest, dedicated and enthusiastic individual, where the successful applicant will assist in providing a clean, comfortable and safe environment. Housekeepers play a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness to reduce the risk of infection and make a valuable contribution to the wider care team that supports babies and families during their hospital stay. Therefore, a keen interest in infection control and an exceptionally high hygiene standard are a must.

To work as an integral member of the ward team. The Job holder will assist in providing a clean, comfortable and safe environment for all babies and families on the Neonatal Unit. General housekeeping on the Neonatal Unit will be your primary responsibility. Due to the immunocompromised status of many of our patients you will have a keen interest in infection control and exceptionally high hygiene standards to meet the needs of the Unit and patients.

The holder of this post will be responsible for the cleaning and minor general maintenance of medical and non medical equipment on the ward. In your role you would will be expected to learn how to dismantle various pieces of complex medical equipment for cleaning and reassemble them safely and in a timely manner.

You will complete tasks as requested by the Ward Management Team which may include ordering, laundry, stocking up, taking deliver of items, audits, and supporting ward staff in their daily tasks. This list is not exhaustive.
