FuZe Play & Climbing Centre is an activity centre and café based in Clydach, Rhondda; offering a combination of fun, innovative activities for all ages ensuring the centre is utilised to its maximum potential as well as offering good quality food, in a family friendly environment.

The shift leader is required to lead the team during their shift ensuring a seamless and smooth delivery of service at all times.

**The successful applicant must;**
- Be pleasant and supportive to all members of staff and the community
- Answer telephone and face to face enquiries with sensitivity and compassion, understanding the implications
- Support the management team to implement all organisation policies and procedures
- Support the management team to monitor manual and computerised records providing monthly updates to the The Fern Partnership
- Support the effective development of weekly rota’s ensuring a fair and equal opportunity to all.
- Arrange cover as and when appropriate to ensure service delivery is not affected by staff sickness, absence or holidays.
- Build positive working partnerships with Schools and other organisations developing extended provision for pupils and their families
- To work with in partnership with Communities First in supporting the delivery of programmes outside of The Fern Partnership commissioned plan and signposting individuals to the appropriate services

**Typical duties will include**:

- Lead the supervision of the play frame and play areas to ensure that children are playing safely and adhering to the ‘Rules of Play’, to include programmes, activities and events, explaining these to customers as required.
- Support the management team with monitoring the operation of computerised booking in system, recording customers details as they enter the centre, creating memberships and ensuring security of the area by only allowing access to those customers that have booked in.
- Lead the effective daily service delivery, ensuring high standards, clear roles and responsibilities and staffing numbers are sufficient for customer demands.
- Support the management team with the effective and efficient handling of cash, operating the cash register and following the finance procedures as required ensuring all staff adhere to the policy and practice.
- Support the management team with the marketing and advertising of daily activities and events ensuring all staff and customers are fully aware of the activities available.
- Support the management team to update social media pages effectively, responding to queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Effective management of numbers accessing the facility ensuring they are within the health & safety guidelines and assist customers, adults and children, needing support.
- Support the management team with the effective and efficient procedures for cleaning duties, ensuring areas are clean and at a high standard at all times.
- Undertake health and safety inspections and cleaning inspections as per the processes and procedures, addressing any faults immediately and reporting any faults to the line manager.
- Support the management team with the effective and efficient service of the café ensuring customers are served in a timely and professional manner as well as observing and monitoring HACCP Policy & Procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Support the management team with the preparation for parties and events and assisting customers during their special event, ensuring to lead the team effectively.
- Support the management team with leading the preparation for community activities and assisting customers during their visit to the centre.
- Have a focus, sound knowledge and understanding on the specific geographical community and The Fern Partnership as a whole.
- Support the management team with conducting community consultation to ensure that local people have their say and are supported to access services and provision.
- Lead all staff to deal with customer concerns, complaints and suggestions utilising on site tools such as suggestion slips and complaints policy.
- Encourage service user feedback to support future growth and development.
- Raise public awareness of the centre and The Fern Partnership as a whole
- Support the management team with liaising with interested groups and individuals to set up new services
- Support the management team with the monitoring and reviewing of training of all staff including voluntary staff and community members seeking further education and/or training opportunities
