PERMANENT PART TIME SITE ASSISTANT

Salary Scale OP5 - Grade A - SCP - 6 - £23,893 - : £12.38/hr (Pro Rata)

Term Time Only (plus 2 weeks during school holidays/inset days)

**Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- Maintain the security of the premises which includes buildings and or grounds.
- Carry out cleaning, handyperson activities, routine maintenance and refurbishment, and repairs.
- Promotion and knowledge of health and safety around the school. Including visual checks.
- Routine checks of compliance assets such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, etc
- Minor electrical works including replacement of bulbs and lighting.
- General handy persons duties.
- Clearing of drains and gullies/working at height.
- Minor painting and decorating.
- Liaise with Contractors, accepting responsibility when contractors and suppliers need to be on site. Subject to reasonable notice being given.
- Preparing the site for major events, including Open Evening, etc.
- Carry out emergency maintenance outside normal working hours as directed and as necessary including treatment of pathways and steps with salt, grit and sand during periods of ice and snow.
- After school lettings, ensuring that equipment is set out and cleared away and that the buildings are secure.

**General**
- To contribute to and uphold the overall vision and ethos of South Cumbria Multi Academy Trust.
- To attend meetings within the School/Trust, and external events as required.
- To be aware of, comply with and to promote equal opportunities and all School/Trust policies at all times.
- To participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
- To maintain confidentiality at all times in respect of School/Trust-related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential and sensitive information.
- To comply with all of the School’s/Trust’s safeguarding requirements.

Essential qualifications: A relevant Health and Safety qualification

Newbarns Primary & Nursery School is committed to safeguarding its staff and pupils and the successful applicants will be appointed on completion of a satisfactory enhanced DBS check, references and a workplace health assessment.
