Farnborough Airport Limited are looking to recruit a Firefighter to work as part of our Fire Service.

Within this role you will work as part of a team to:

- Provide instantaneous response to reported incidents on the Airfield and Farnborough Airport property
- Deploy at the scene of incidents and take action commensurate with training and in accordance with procedures to preserve life and minimise damage to property
- Take all necessary action to ensure the safety of those involved in any incident and minimising any further risk people may face (including the administering of first aid) and damage to property
- Attend and deploy at fuel spillage's taking action as instructed and in accordance with procedures to minimise risk to people and property
- Undertake communication duties by operating radio and telecommunication systems equipment, computer devices and electronic reporting systems
- Test and inspect fire alarms and other firefighting and fire protection equipment to validate Farnborough Airport’s compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements
- Ensure at the scene of fire incidents that information is obtained and preserved
- Comply with statutory, legal, regulatory and relevant Directions (e.g. HSE, CAP 168, CAP 699, etc.), including RFFS Training and Assessment Manual and other relevant training requirements
- Adhere to Compliance and Safety standards and environmental policies / guidelines at all times
- Maintain personal discipline to ensure that standards of performance and behaviour are maintained in accordance with the various policies of Farnborough Airport and RFFS Operational Procedures
- Familiarise and inform new fire personnel of the procedures, working practices and duties of a firefighter
- Clean, inspect, refuel, test and assist in the maintenance of fire vehicles and equipment
- Carry out airport snow and ice clearance duties in accordance with Farnborough Airport’s Snow and Ice Clearance Plan
- Carry out Bird Control Duties as and when directed by the Crew Manager/Watch Manager
- Carry out sweeping duties as and when directed by the Crew Manager/Watch Manager
- Undertake duties necessary to keep the fire station and its equipment clean and tidy and a safe working environment
- Carry out any other duties to ensure the effective and efficient running of Farnborough Airport

**About you**:
**Essential Skills and Attributes**
- Must be a British citizen and have the ability to provide UK referencing covering the last five years in order to obtain a airside pass
- CAA Certificate of Competence - Firefighter
- An understanding of CAP 168 and CAP 699
- Breathing Apparatus Wearer
- Medical assistance qualification
- Manual Handling
- Must be able to obtain a Farnborough Airport Airside Driving Permit
- Must be able to pass a criminal record check.
- LGV Licence
- Health & Safety Level 2
- General Security Awareness Training
- IFE Level 2 Fire science, Operations and Development
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work shifts (a 40 hour week)
