**Phlebotomist Job Description and Person Specification**

**Job title **Phlebotomist

**Line manager **Lead Practice Nurse

**Accountable to **Practice Manager

**Hours per week **22.5 hours

**Job summary**

Working under the direction of the lead nurse and as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, the post holder will be responsible for performing venepuncture, as requested by the clinical team, to the entitled patient population.
In addition, the Phlebotomist will be expected to support the nursing team on an as required basis.

Wadebridge and Camel Estuary Practice must ensure that the post holder has access to appropriate clinical supervision and an appropriate named individual in the organisation to provide general advice and support on a day-to-day basis.
