The Finance Director will take effective ownership of the day-to-day running of the Finance team and create a strong financial control environment by ensuring robust policies, procedures and processes are in place that deliver accurate and timely externaland internal reporting across two businesses. In addition, the role will support the CEO and board on various on-going projects to drive future growth and investment.

**Key tasks/responsibilities include**:

- Create and manage the finance functions across the business, both locally and at group level, advising on staffing structures, skill requirements and systems to provide a robust finance function and service.
- Involved in decision making to drive revenues and profits, including development of cost models to ensure existing business streams, and potential new business streams, are commercially successful.
- Production of monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts including audited accounts for parts of the group requiring an audit
- Preparing annual budgets for the group, and devolved budgets for internal purposes.
- Monitor, review, and control budgets against actual and projected spend.
- Delivery of all necessary financial reporting and period close processes, all with relevant commentary and recommendations
- Identify and drive cost efficiencies across the business to drive margins and improve value for money.
- Working with key stakeholders to develop and deliver management reporting.
- To assist the Group Board and CEO with the identification of potential acquisitions and subsequent due diligence of such opportunities and eventual integration of any completed acquisitions
- Manage the Funding and Data Compliance function to ensure revenues are collected from government agencies and proper audit controls are in place to ensure security of funds.

**What You'll Need to Succeed
**You will need to be an accomplished CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified Accountant who has worked at a leadership level in a busy environment and able to assess and understand a wide range of commercial activities. Exposure/ knowledge of work-based learningprovision desirable but not essential. Experience in accounting software, such as -Sage Accounts (or similar packages) would be preferable alongside advanced Excel skills and being proficient in use of Word. Demonstrated experience in supervising, mentoring,and reviewing colleague’s work/activities. Someone outcome orientated and professional in attitude and approach, with the confidence to challenge the management of the business and enforce controls as approved by the board.
