**Do you have**:
Practical experience will a wide variety of dogs?

Great people skills?

The ability to present confidently to a group of people?

An interest in animal welfare?

If so, we would love to hear from you

We are looking for a Dog Trainer to join our Hucknall team. With responsibility for running and organising a selection of puppy and dog training classes, (a mixture of 121 and group sessions) this is an exciting role

The role is 18 hours per week. You will work in the Hucknall retail store if training classes are not scheduled.

Whilst we do not require our new trainer to have training experience, or to have run training classes previously, you will be expected to be able to demonstrate that they have extensive hands-on experience of working with a range of different types and breeds of dog. This can be gained by working, either in a professional capacity (more than six months as a veterinary nurse, kennel assistant in boarding kennels, dog walker, groomer or similar) or as a volunteer (more than one year of regular weekend work at a rescue shelter or similar). It is also essential that prospective dog trainers have a keen interest in animal behaviour.

Additionally, it is essential that you are sociable and able to get on well with people since you will be helping the owners to teach their dogs rather than only teaching the dogs themselves.

It is desirable, although not essential, to have some experience of speaking to, or teaching small groups.
