**THE ROLE**

Applications are invited from Constables (who have had their probation confirmed) for vacancies at Luton Airport. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Counter Terrorism Border Policing team within the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) CT Policing command. ERSOU Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) covers the counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.

The normal place of duty for this post will be Luton Airport. Successful applicants will be seconded to Bedfordshire for command and control purposes and thus may be deployed regionally. The shift pattern is available on request.

The role focusses on identifying passengers coming through the UK Border who may pose a National Security risk. Officers provide border policing services and gather intelligence relating to Counter Terrorism, Left-Wing, Anarchist and Single-Issue Terrorism **(LASIT)** and other associated ERSOU-CTP matters across the Eastern region.

The position requires engagement with partner agencies at the airport, foreign law enforcement bodies as well as engaging with passengers through operational deployment within the airport. This includes the terminal both airside and landside and travelling between the two Fixed Based operator terminals (private jets).

CT Policing Borders is a 24/7 operation. There will also be a pool for vacancies that may arise in the future

**VETTING**

Each case will be considered on its merits, taking into account the ties between the person involved and the United Kingdom.

**Responsibilities**- Respond to alerts and gather intelligence as directed by supervisor.
- Make proportionate and justified use of Schedule 7 of TACT policing power. Provide written reports after examination in accordance with established principles and submit within national timescales.
- Maintain competence in the practice of downloading digital media devices using provided equipment.
- Ensure compliance with the National Standards of Intelligence Management (NSIM). To include recognition of the Fixed Intelligence Management Unit (FIMU) responsibility in respect of all new intelligence received and personal responsibility in respect of all new intelligence received.
- Conduct intelligence driven briefing, tasking and debriefing appropriate to the duties being performed and in accordance with organisational policy.
