Job description

Due to recent growth at New Directions College, we are looking for additional Sessional Instructors of Art, Ceramics, Fashion and Dressmaking, Creative Writing and Upholstery to join us for September 2023.

New Directions College is Reading Borough Council’s Adult Community Learning and Skills service. This year we’re celebrating 65 years of Adult Learning in Reading. We’re a small friendly College delivering to over 2000 learners and Apprentices in Reading each year, directly and through our subcontractors and partners.

Our courses are based at our main site at 330 Northumberland Avenue in Whitley, Reading and at a range of venues across Reading, including the Town Hall and Community Centres.

**About the Role**

(Hourly rate is inclusive of planning, preparation, administration, and annual leave allowance)

You might have previous teaching experience, but this isn’t essential as we can provide training and development as well as access to formal teaching qualifications if this interests you.

Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to create a relaxed and friendly environment during classes. You will work alongside a team of passionate and highly skilled arts & crafts instructors who are dedicated to delivering an outstanding leisure provision for our adult learners.
