**Lecturer in Bricklaying within Apprenticeships**

**36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year**

**£29,552 - £35,298 per annum**

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the City College Norwich Apprenticeships Team.

We are looking for someone who has up to date industry skills, has a dynamic and vibrant personality and the skills to communicate with employers and young people. This is an ideal opportunity to instil best practise and have an influence on shaping the next generation of Brick Layers entering the industry.

In this role, you will be delivering practical and theory sessions to groups of brick laying apprentices or engaging with learners and employers to assess competence in the workplace, which is why you will need such a strong technical skillset as well as excellent interpersonal skills. You will be using a wide range of software and technology, designed to support you to work effectively to maintain the high standards we set ourselves.

We have high standards for our students in the tracking and recording of work and assessments so you will need to be well organised and efficient as well as a confident user of IT.

The role requires apprentices to be challenged constructively, with individualised SMART targets that are set with employer input to shape and develop apprentices to meet the demands of the end point assessment and showcase their knowledge, skills and behaviours.

Ideally, you will have teaching qualifications and at least a level 3 qualification in your trade area. However, we would love to hear from you if you have the appropriate industry skills and experience (five years minimum), great communication skills (written and verbal) and the patience and passion to help others learn, develop and progress.

City College Norwich is committed to staff development and could support you to train as a teacher if you have no teaching qualifications but the right soft skills and technical trade background.

As a College we are required to undertake various Safer Recruitment checks as set out within the guidance from the Department for Education Keeping Child Safe in Education. We require all staff to undertake an enhanced Adult and Child Workforce DBS Check and to register with the DBS Update Service. Please note: From 28 November 2020 the government implemented changes to the filtering rules, and we have been instructed that we cannot accept any update service checks on DBS certificates that have been issued before this date. Therefore, a new one must be completed with City College Norwich.
