Robert Half are excited to be exclusively partnered with an organisation in St Neots as they actively seek a new Head of Finance to join their growing team. The role will have ultimate responsibility over the full spectrum of financials and reporting forthe group. Actively contributing towards the Financial Planning and Strategic growth of the organisation.

To be successful in this role you will oversee all financial tasks and ensure investments and resources are utilised effectively to maintain the groups financial health, increasing long term profitability.

**Key Responsibilities**

Strategic Management
- To contribute to the strategic management of the business by developing and maintaining strategies that encompass the Finance Department.
- To participate within the Senior Management Team in forward planning and the effective daily organisation's activities, including business planning, policy setting, financial forecasting and strategic decision making.

Financial Management
- Effective management and control of all capital and revenue budgets.
- To lead on the financial aspects of any strategic projects, aimed at achieving growth of the organisation.
- Establish and implement inter-company and departmental budgets and control.
- Establish and implement effective inter-company and departmental cost centres for company expenditure.
- Overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters, including audit systems
- Monitor and control the quality and cost-effectiveness of services provided by the department to ensure high standards and a focus on driving costs down.
- Maintain up-to-date records of departmental financial information.

Staff Management/Deployment
- To lead and manage the Finance team by establishing excellent ongoing working relationships with team via recruitment, training, and communication.
- To liaise with the Human Resources Manager to ensure staffing levels are maintained, recruiting effective staff as necessary, in line with relevant policies and procedures.
- To effectively manage the performance of the team by carrying out progress reviews and ensuring objectives and key outputs are cascaded throughout the department.
- Communicate effectively with the team on a regular basis, ensuring information is clear, accurate and timely; encouraging team participation in the way information is relayed to and from the departments.

Delivery
- To ensure the accurate and timely preparation of management accounts, the effective operation and development of management systems for all accounting functions, particularly those relating to purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, cash and banking, nominalledger, and stock control.
- To be responsible for the preparation of appropriate financial reports for the Directors and to present such at Board Meetings, as and when required.
- To be fully conversant with new initiatives, new legislation and modern thinking in all matters relating to financial management and to advise the Management Team and Boards accordingly.
- To plan and prepare financial management documents, including financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met regarding all the company's financial affairs
- Corporate finance: manage company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, and acquisitions, as appropriate
- Preparation of annual accounts
- To maximise income from all trading activities.
- To develop and maintain the Finance Team operating procedures.
- To develop and maintain effective financial control procedures.

Additional Responsibilities
- Promote and adhere to the organisation's culture and values.
- To be aware of, adhere to, and implement any legislative requirements consistent with overall duties of this post
- To undergo relevant training and development required by the Chief Executive.
- To carry out any other tasks that will, from time to time be allocated by the Chief Executive on an ad hoc or continuing basis, commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Proven work experience as a Head of Finance or similar role
- Experience of audit and process / controls improvement desirable
- In-depth understanding of cash flow management
- Hands-on experience with budgeting and forecasting models
- Strong IT knowledge and experience - ability to work with multiple operational and finance systems and data sets
- Experience of system implementation desirable
- Capable of managing multiple responsibilities and able to deliver to strict deadlines
- Solid analytical and decision-making skills and a meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to critique and challenge the 'numbers'
- Experience working with Mergers and Acquisitions is desirable

**Salary and Benefits**

The position of Head of Finance is offered with a salary of £90,000 - £100,000 dependant on experience and is offered with Hybrid working, however predominantly office based.
