We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and team focused trainee on a 12 month fixed term basis to support the Trauma and Orthopaedic department.

The post holder must have had at least 6 months working in an NHS organisation and will be expected to support the trauma and orthopaedic service, and develop their surgical and diagnostic skills with a view to furthering a career in trauma and orthopaedics.

They will support the FY1 and FY2 tier and also participate in a Trauma and Orthopaedic on call rota during core hours only, out of hours on call is not a requirement of this role.

The post holder will also be expected to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and to participate in audit and clinical governance activities.
- In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to provide a service in Trauma and Orthopaedic with responsibility for core Trauma and Orthopaedic services.
- In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to take part in medical audit and research as appropriate.
- In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met.
- To ensure that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of your patients to be able to contact you when necessary.
- In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to play a full part in the professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.
- In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to take responsibility for and devote time to teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required for junior medical staff.
