This is an exciting time to join the team where we have recently expanded and continue to develop the Team. You will need to be an experienced senior social worker and relish the opportunity to work in a fast paced, creative and supportive environment. You will be required to readily share your knowledge and skills and to contribute to a culture of continuous learning and development of the Team, to achieve what matters to our children and families.
We work with children and young people form 0-16 years who have experienced trauma. We are a team of passionate and committed workers who want to create safe, secure and long-lasting connections with children and young people. We pride ourselves as a team in ensuring that we support our children and young people to understand their life journey and support them having safe family time with those who are important to them.
We work closely with our in-house Foster Wales Swansea Team, Family and Friends Team, independent fostering agencies and Residential providers to ensure our children and young people receive the best care and are given opportunity to develop their skills before they become adults.
As a Practice Lead within the Looked After Children's Team you would be responsible for overseeing and supporting a POD of senior social workers, social workers and support officers, your role will include:
- Providing supervision to Senior Social Workers, Social Workers, and Support Officers within your POD.
- Providing direction and support to Senior Social Workers, Social Workers and support officers within your POD.
- Chairing meetings such as strategy meetings, family network meetings, placement stability meetings.
- Promote the development of Senior Social Workers, Social workers and Support Officers within the Team
- Undertake and lead on child protection investigations
- Support the team manager in development of the team and day to day management
- Quality Assurance of case work to include, Assessments, Care and Support Plans, court work
