**About the Role**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join St James Medical Practice, King's Lynn, as an apprentice administrator. The successful applicant will work as a key member of our team, undertaking a wide variety of administrative duties, to assist in the smooth running of the surgery, preparing them for future employment.

This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday, that will allow the apprentice to gain experience in all non-manegerial aspects of the administration of a surgery. There is potential for permanent employment on successful completion of the apprenticeship.

The apprentice will provide general administrative support for the practice, including the following:

- Dealing with patients in person, via the telephone & through the online platform.
- Booking appointments.
- Actioning patient medication requests.
- Signposting patients to the relevant service.
- Audio-typing of referrals.
- Workflow: scanning incoming mail, circulating as appropriate and adding information to patient records.
- Supporting the rest of the administration team.

All applicants should:

- have a good general standard of education, to include mathematics and English qualifications, or predicted grades, at GCSE grade ‘C’ or above, or equivalent.
- be willing to undertake, and successfully complete, minimum _Level 3 Apprenticeship_ within the 18-month contract of employment.
- have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- have the ability to work on own initiative.
- demonstrate good attention to detail and levels of accuracy.
- have experience of Microsoft Office e.g. Word and Excel.
- be able to work under pressure and problem-solve.
- understand the importance of confidentiality.
- be adaptable and receptive to new ideas and procedures.
- demonstrate the ability to work within a team and with diverse groups of people at different levels.

**About Us**:
The doctors and staff at St James Medical Practice are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare to their 17,500 patients, who live in and around Kings Lynn. We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes, offering a wide range of medical services including minor surgery, minor illness and childhood vaccinations. We also own and manage an endoscopy community unit, based in Dersingham.

This is a very exciting time to be joining our team, as we are currently having built a brand-new medical practice on Edward Benefer Way, Kings Lynn, which we will be moving to in January 2024. Due to the location of our current site, there is no on-site parking for staff, however the new practice has purpose-built staff parking.
