**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title**: Associate Professor in Occupational Therapy**School/Directorate**: Health and Social Care Professions**Grade**: AC4 / I**Location**: Relevant School campus with travel to other campuses, as required**Responsible to**: Head of School**Job Purpose**:

- To make a significant and demonstrable contribution to Education and Professional Practice or Research within the School and the University focusing on a chosen BAF track. To lead the design and delivery of high-quality research, fulfilling the University’s mission in research.- To contribute to your discipline, at least regionally and nationally, through participation in conferences, seminars, professional bodies and peer review.**Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role**:
**Education**
- To undertake and promote cross disciplinary teaching to contribute to the success of the wider University.
- Use data to inform practice. Demonstrate continuous improvements as evidenced through external benchmarks such as NSS, TEF and league table position. Influence policy and practice enhancement at School and University levels.
- To lead work in partnership with students on curriculum reform projects and champion innovative forms of teaching delivery.
- To lead the design and delivery of a high-quality curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, achieving external accreditation of programmes and fulfilling the University’s mission in education.
- To contribute, at an appropriate level, to School and University policy and practice in teaching, producing works of scholarship in teaching.
- To play a significant role in the review of modules and programmes and in quality assurance and enhancement, as required.
- Lead on the promotion of employability and career progression for our students.
- Demonstrate inclusive practice in curriculum design and delivery. Work to eliminate attainment gaps.

**Professional Practice**
- To enhance University links with industry, employers and professional bodies to enable research and teaching collaborations and knowledge exchange.
- To develop and deliver funding opportunities and to secure bids for external funding for research, teaching and/or innovation in the relevant area of practice in accordance with the University’s strategies and objectives.
- To create and/or support internal and external partner groups linked to research and innovation.
- To develop, design and promote the University’s professional practice, activities and reputation, including in research, teaching and/or innovation, internally, and at least regionally
