The typing of correspondence, clinic letters and discharge summaries accurately and within time limits set by departmental standards, thus requiring a high degree of keyboard skills, medical terminology and secretarial procedures. Audio/copy typing any other correspondence as required. Correspondence, letters and discharge summaries can relate to all aspects of medicine and knowledge of medical terminology is necessary.
Booking of clinic appointments within a timely manner and ensuring all patient queries are dealt with professionally and sympathetically.
Provide secretarial support to consultants and the provision of general support throughout the department as and when necessary. The provision of support to specialist nurses as and when required.
