We are looking for a full time kitchen assistant at Olive and Bean.

We need people who are passionate about food and service, are able to work well in a team, and promote and maintain the Olive & Bean values.

Experience in hospitality and catering skills are essential for this role.

The successful applicant would be involved in making food orders for breakfast and lunch service, consistently maintaining our standards, keeping kitchen stock levels up, managing and minimising product waste and be responsible for placing orders with outside suppliers.

Be able to look at the whole picture, take into account trends, weather patterns and term times.

Must be able to work quickly and show initiative. Be able to follow instructions and take direction well.

Must push to do things better, take responsibility for all food leaving the kitchen, clearly communicate to keep colleagues informed about special requests or changes and seek feed back, either from colleagues and or from customers. Must be proactive in dealing with feedback when our standards are not met.

The kitchen is very fast paced and busy so this role would suit someone who thrives under pressure.

Applicants must follow Health and safety standards and ensure a high level of cleanliness and hygiene are met at all times, understand the brand of Olive and Bean, show pride in working for us, and contribute to a positive working environment

- 40 per week, including opening shifts and weekends.

**Salary**: £10.51-£11.51 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Newcastle upon Tyne: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Catering: 1 year (preferred)
- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
- Kitchen experience: 1 year (preferred)
