**Job summary**:
The Jersey Police Complaints Authority (JPCA) are seeking a voluntary Chair to help lead the independent body who are responsible for overseeing, monitoring and supervising the investigations of complaints against members of the States of Jersey Police and Honorary Police. The JPCA help to guide and assist all members of our community including the most vulnerable through the complaints channels.

Members of the independent body enjoy engaging with the public and take pride in giving back to the community as well as providing independent advice to the States of Jersey Police to ensure people in Jersey are and feel safe.

The independent body are responsible for overseeing, monitoring and supervising the investigations of complaints against members of the States of Jersey Police and Honorary Police. Voluntary members work directly with senior public service leaders including the CEO, Justice and Home Affairs Minister, Attorney General and the Bailiff.

The Chair will work with a team of volunteers and will be responsible for moving the service forward, as well as the general running of the Authority, budget control, recruitment, chairing meetings and providing guidance to the members as and when required. The role would suit someone with experience in a senior management position, with decision making skills and the ability to professionally challenge.
