We are seeking a Senior Fine Wine Buyer to join our UK team and contribute to the ongoing success of our wine global retail business.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic buying:

- Utilise your extensive knowledge of fine wines to proactively identify commercial opportunities to purchase stock for a world-class portfolio.
- Use your expertise in the fine wine market to spot trends and cater to the evolving preferences of our customers.
- Liaise with the UK and international sales teams to create buying opportunities and maximise our global footprint.

Forge Strategic Partnerships:

- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key wine producers and suppliers globally.
- Create and maintain strong relationships with private client suppliers in order to source the world’s best wines.

Market Intelligence and Consumer Insights:

- Leverage data analytics and market research to gain insights into consumer behavior, enabling data-driven decision-making in the curation process.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to align the wine selection with current market trends and customer expectations.

Financial Strategy and Performance Metrics:

- Develop and manage budgets for wine procurement, optimizing resource allocation for maximum profitability.
- Monitor key performance metrics, adjusting inventory levels and pricing strategies to align with sales objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Proven track record as a Fine Wine Buyer in a dynamic and innovative wine merchant.
- Extensive knowledge of top-tier wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne and their prices within the market.
- The ability to quickly and accurately price up wine portfolios and spot opportunities in the market.
- A well-established network within the wine industry, including strong relationships with key producers and suppliers.
- Excellent negotiation skills, coupled with effective communication and strategic thinking.
- Proficiency in leveraging data and analytics for decision-making.
- Efficient and commercially minded with forensic attention to detail.
- Demonstrated team collaboration skills.
- WSET Diploma or equivalent.
