McKellars of Ayrshire is a family run and operated company working across Central Scotland, carrying out large scale commercial fencing. Working within commercial and Government frameworks (across multiple local authority areas) to deliver a high quality of service to our clients, efficiently. We install a large range of fences including metal security fencing, anti-climb fences round schools, chain-link and various styles of wooden fences.

Due to expansion, we are looking to employ motivated individuals, with a strong work ethic to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. We are passionate about providing the best service to our customers through high quality materials and installation.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing all aspects of general labouring and fencing duties across client sites. A full, clean driving licence is advantageous, with a trailer licence (although this is not essential).

We are looking for around 12 months previous labouring experience. Whilst CSCS is not essential, it would be an advantage. You will be required to make your way to our yard for an 8.30am start each morning, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm with additional hours (paid as overtime) required on occasion, including occasional Saturdays.

Duties and skills required include:

- The ability to follow instructions from managers, supervisors and team leaders.
- Working as part of a team including showing a willingness to learn and take control of designated, specific tasks.
- Loading on to trailers/vehicles, reading job cards, recognising material descriptions and keeping accurate counts for team leaders/managers.
- Operating various types of equipment and machinery including power and hand tools.
- This role requires that the employee is able to physically manage loads and weights, e.g., in relation to the unloading and transferring of fencing materials.
- Clean up and prepare the job site for the working day.

Training:

- Trailer training for applicants that show progression within teams and have a requirement for towing trailers.
- Training in the use of fencing tools, such as chainsaws, nail guns, etc.
- Supervisory/Management training for this who positively take control of situations and receive appropriate feedback from the management team.
- Progression is available for members of any team that show leadership qualities and have the capacity to take on additional responsibilities.
