The post holder will provide extensive leadership for running overall programmes, leading and co-ordinating the delivery of effective communications, assisting in the cultural change programme and policy integration. The role requires a can-do attitude providing leadership across a range of functions across the team. This role will make a significant contribution working within the Co-ordination Team as a central cross cutting team across the Good Growth Directorate that is focused on
- enabling collaboration and better integration across policy, strategies, and units,
- engagement, building culture and EDI as well as supporting and aligning corporate process
- supporting and aligning with GLA corporate process
- helping to increase performance through data and monitoring

**Principal accountabilities**:

- Deliver programme management for key projects and programmes using the GLA’s project management methodology to deliver the agreed aims and outcomes and the monitoring of Programme delivery including programme level finance and performance management oversight.
- Be responsible for the monitoring, analysis, reporting and assessment of the Co-ordination team’s performance, including its financial budgets, to provide accurate, timely management information for senior managers and ensure that reporting deadlines, both internal and external are met with efficiency and accuracy. Work alongside Project Support Officers to meet anticipated demand and respond to changing priorities.
- Design and maintain programme management systems in response to changing circumstances, ensuring mayoral manifesto and corporate objectives as well as external funding bodies’ information and monitoring requirements are met.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the projects and programmes overseen by the Co-ordination team guiding other team programmes in programme performance and provide quality assurance with these programmes and projects and provide guidance in programme management and delivery.
- Co-ordinate and deliver best practice and training for the directorate in our approach to risk, quality assurance and monitoring. Developing and setting up systems and processes to improve performance and monitoring across directorate
- Contribute, as required, to the corporate business plan and other corporate management activities, including the drafting of high-level strategic briefings, lead on specific complex and sensitive workstreams as agreed and ensure that own and team’s briefings and reports are accurate, produced on time and to a high quality
- Contribute to the clienting of consultants to deliver research, including procurement processes, feasibility project management, monitoring and review. Contribute to the design and implementation of evaluation strategies on behalf of the team, across the Good Growth Directorate. Ensuring evaluation processes are in place at a programme level to measure benefits, and that the learning is successfully captured and shared throughout the directorate to inform future programmes
- Co-ordinate and assure the involvement of all relevant parts of the GLA Group in the programmes, including colleagues from legal and finance, and manage governance processes (at both local and corporate level)
- Manage resources allocated to the job in accordance with the Authority’s policies and Code of Ethics and Standards.

- Prepare and present reports, briefs and recommendations on key issues and actions to the Managers and Assistant Director to facilitate executive understanding and decision making.
- Manage programme audits in accordance with corporate guidelines, ensure that self and staff highlight any financial, legal, regulatory and reputation risks and recommend and execute timely remedial actions to provide auditable assurance over financial and output claims from delivery partners
