Job Description: Finance Business Partner (School)

Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and dedicated individual to join our team as a Finance Business Partner for our school. As the Finance Business Partner, you will play a vital role in providing financial insights, analysis, and strategic guidance to support the financial management and decision-making processes of the school. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including school administrators, department heads, and finance teams, to ensure financial accountability, efficiency, and sustainability.

**Responsibilities**:

- Financial Analysis and Reporting:

- Conduct financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, to provide insights into the schools financial performance.
- Prepare regular financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for school management, highlighting key financial metrics and trends.
- Identify risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations for financial improvements.
- Budget Planning and Management:

- Collaborate with school administrators and department heads to develop annual budgets and monitor budgetary performance throughout the year.
- Track and analyze budget variances, investigate discrepancies, and propose corrective actions as necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of budget presentations for stakeholders, explaining financial assumptions and justifications.
- Financial Planning and Strategy:

- Support the development and implementation of financial strategies aligned with the schools goals and objectives.
- Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis to evaluate the financial impact of potential initiatives, projects, or changes in the schools operations.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making processes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Serve as a trusted finance advisor to school administrators, department heads, and other stakeholders, providing guidance on financial matters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial considerations are incorporated into operational plans and initiatives.
- Foster effective communication and relationships with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver financial support accordingly.
- Compliance and Audit:

- Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, policies, and procedures within the school.
- Assist in coordinating and facilitating internal and external audits, providing necessary financial documentation and support.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing controls and processes to safeguard the schools financial assets.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA) are preferred. Proven experience (X years) as a Finance Business Partner, Financial Analyst, or similar role, preferably in an educational or nonprofit environment. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present insights in a clear and concise manner. Solid understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and accounting principles. Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis using spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to financial integrity. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements in the education sector is a plus.
