Your role at a glance
We are currently recruiting a Financial Crime Consultant to join our team.

In this role, you will be part of the LGR Financial Crime Team. LGR FC is one of the five Divisional Financial Crime teams in L&G. The LGR team is responsible for all aspects of second line financial crime risk management for LGR within L&G including the effective delivery of all Group Financial Crime programmes across the division.

What you'll be doing
- Supporting the delivery of second line financial crime risk management for LGR, including but not limited to:

- Ensuring LGR’s adherence to the Divisional Financial Crime Policy and alignment with the Group Financial Crime Policy and Framework, including reporting requirements, quality assurance, risk assessments and risk acceptances
- Providing advice and guidance to the LGR divisional stakeholders and interpreting and communicating GFC Guidance, delivering LGR-specific Training & Awareness and issuing communications as required.
- Conducting financial crime Investigations and reviews of screening alerts, liaising with and answering queries from law enforcement concerning the LGR Division, as required.
- Escalating significant issues to the Head of LGR FC (screening concerns, incidents, controls failures etc.)
- Supporting the Head of LGR FC and work collaboratively with the other members of both the LGR Risk team, GFC and the wider financial crime community to ensure alignment.
- Providing support with respect to other ad-hoc LGR Risk and GFC initiatives that may be initiated as part of the FC Transformation Programme, as required.
- Working collaboratively with Risk and business stakeholders across the L&G operating divisions and group functions in the execution of all accountabilities to deliver improved outcomes.
- Treating Customers Fairly: work with the new ‘Governance, Policy & Advisory’ sub-function which is being created within Group Financial Crime to design and ensure delivery of suitable training to staff to enable them to meet their requirements under policy with respect to financial crime programs

What we're looking for
- General knowledge of the following products/sectors:

- Pension & Annuities Products
- Pension Risk Transfer
- Lending & Lifetime Mortgages
- Financial advice
- Sufficient commercial perspective and overall knowledge of business sectors in which L&G operates to guide Investigators
- Broad knowledge at L&G-wide level of key L&G-wide business drivers
- Understanding of L&G structure and reporting
- Excellent knowledge and experience of second line financial crime risk management within large complex financial services organisations.
- Good knowledge of UK Regulatory and legislative framework with respect to Financial Crime.
- Good knowledge of industry standard financial crime risks and control measures in financial services organisations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure high quality delivery of management information and presentations in meetings and other forums.
- High attention to detail and ability to work effectively, both individually and within a team.
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with management and external parties, such as suppliers and outsourcers, to enable the delivery of practical solutions to problems or the implementation of improved systems, processes or controls.
- Ability to work with other compliance team members and business colleagues to promote a good conduct risk and compliance culture so that regulatory expectations are exceeded
- Ability to be proactive in your approach to contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive Financial Crime Risk framework.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent or relevant professional qualification
- Previous commercial experience in financial crime roles.
