The Swan at Lavenham are looking for an enthusiastic person to assist their Housekeeping team as a Laundry Porter.

**Part time role | Hourly rate: National Minimum Wage**

**Overall Job Purpose**:
To take in all laundry deliveries and be responsible for storing and stock levels of hotel laundry, leaving the laundry room clean and tidy after each shift, to assist the Housekeeping teams.

Wednesday | 8.30 am - 3.00pm approx.

Friday | 8.30am - 3.00pm approx.

Saturday | 10am - 3pm approx.

**Main Responsibilities**:
**Customer Focus**:

- Be friendly and polite to customers at all times.
- Offer assistance to guests and customers where appropriate.
- Ensure that the Head Housekeeper is aware of any special requirements.

**Key Tasks**:

- On agreed days, tally up dirty laundry and rejects, record and handover to the Head of Department
- Rotating of stock
- Checking laundry deliveries and advise of any discrepancies
- Top up the cupboards (ensure enough stock depending on the level of business)
- Hoover the bedroom corridors, assist in cleaning of public areas
- Hoover and mop floors of laundry cupboards
- Keep storage areas/ laundry room/cupboards clean, neat and tidy
- Participate in a weekly stock count
- Report any over and/or understock to Head of Department
- Assist team in taking laundry bags to laundry room
- Report any faults or damage to the Services & Facilities Manager as soon as possible.
- Ensure that the correct procedures are followed at all times.
- Always follow health and safety procedures.
- Stock all cupboards with bathrobes, ensure dirty bathrobes is bagged in the canteen
- Help room attendants with stripping off beds.

- Cleaning standards
- Guest comments/feedback

**Special Requirements**:

- You will be requited to wear a uniform.
- Be able to work flexibly, this includes working shifts, weekends and bank holidays when required.
- To be flexible to support the business needs
- This is a physically demanding role.
