- Location: City Courts Probation Office, Bradford, BD1 1LB
- Hours: Monday - Friday 9-5 (37.5 hours a week)
- Salary: £11.72 raising to £12.24 per hour after 12 weeks
- Hybrid working model: 4 days in office, 1 from home
- Contract length: Temporary contract for 6 months with likelihood to be extended to 31/03/24

The Probation Service (PS) is a statutory criminal justice service that supervises offenders released in the community. The PS is part of His Majesty's Prison and Probation Services (HMPPS). The PS makes sure individuals serve the sentences and orders handed out by courts, both in prisons and the community.The PS delivers probation services to high, medium and low risk offenders. The PS works in partnership with key agencies, including the police, childrens services, the NHS, alcohol and drug treatment organisations and the voluntary sector.

**Role Overview**:
**Responsibilities include**:

- Working directly with probational practitioners and People on Probation
- Encourage offenders to meet people in the community, increasing their confidence to connect and engage with services and reducing risk to re offend
- Joint visits with probationer officers and working with other social navigators
- Supporting People on Probation to design an action plan and facilitate their completion of this
- Collate and return data for analysis and evaluation purposes using Outlook, Excel and Probation case recording system
- Building a detailed understanding of the local community, mapping existing resources and identifying gaps taking a solution focused approach

**Skills and experience required**:

- Great communication skills, written and verbal
- IT/Outlook experience
- People skills
- Not essential but desired: Worked with prisoners or those engaged in the criminal justice system or those services which caters for those with complex needs
- Experience of setting goals and achieving targets
