**We are looking for compassionate, motivated and keen people to provide professional care to join our team at Meadowside looking after our residents with learning disabilities. We encourage our Support workers to provide the standard of care and support that they would wish their own family members to receive and want to improve peoples lives.**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Looking for Bank Staff, days or nights.**

**Purpose of Job**:
Support residents with all aspects of their day to day living. Promoting individual choice and independence.

Ensure the wellbeing, safety and security of residents and others using or visiting the residential home.

**Duties**:
1. Provide personal care for service users as appropriate.

2. Ensure that residents’ personal care plans are read, adhered to and kept up to date.

3. Complete all required paperwork for each resident, including observation sheets.

4. Make sure that residents’ wishes, needs and opinions are sought and their choices are respected (an advocate may be involved).

5. Assist residents to take part in stimulating activities and social events.

6. Take residents to appointments, as required.

7. Ensure you have information from the previous shift handover, including any changes to medication, incidents or residents’ requirements since you were last on shift.

8. Carry out any daily delegations identified by the Management.

9. May need assistance with domestic chores.

10. Maintain good supportive relationships with residents and other care staff, working well as a team.

11. Ensure that the home, equipment and grounds are in a safe and satisfactory condition. Report any maintenance or other issues to management, as necessary.

12. Treat residents with dignity and respect at all times.

13. Keep personal information regarding residents, staff and the charity confidential at all times.

14. Comply with the home’s policies, procedures and practices.

15. Be aware of all Health and Safety guidelines and of what action to take in the event of an emergency.

16. Attend training courses and staff meetings as requested by management.

17. Undertake other duties that may be reasonably be requested.

**Specific Requirements**:
**ESSENTIAL**
- Be over 18 years old.
- Self motivated, organized and flexible.
- Caring and sensitive to the needs of others.
- An active team member but also able to work on own initiative.
- A good communicator.

**DESIRABLE**
- Previous experience within a care setting desirable, however not necessary as full training will be given.

**Salary**: Dependent on experience

COVID-19 considerations:
All carers are required to have regular Covid tests, to wear PPE at all times while in the residential home, and regularly sanitise/wash hands, in line with Government guidance and legislation.

**Salary**: £9.91-£10.75 per hour
