**A bit about the role**
A unique opportunity to work closely with the Head of Group Health and Safety for Retail and Processes. Working collaboratively with key stakeholders, you will be part of a friendly and dynamic team supporting and guiding DFS in delivery of the HSE strategy.

This field based role will involve:

- Assisting in the development and implementation of HSE procedures in line with DFS accreditations including ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001
- Assist with the delivery of audit schedules and tracking compliance
- Assisting in conducting audits and inspections in line with DFS procedures and ensuring compliance and effectiveness of HSE requirements against internal policies and procedures and legislative requirements
- Taking the lead on workloads as agreed with the Head of Health and Safety
- Providing professional advice and support to circa 200 Retail Stores with the support of the HSE team
- Raising awareness of risk and providing the Head of Group Health and Safety for Retail and Processes with assurance that the management framework of Health and Safety is effective
- Ensuring compliance and company best practice regarding Health and Safety issues and effectively following up on external audits, insurance inspections, EHO and Fire Officer visits.
- Complete accident investigations when required
- Monitoring Retails performance of Health and Safety through the online management system.
- Flexibility will be required as you will support other areas of the business on occasion
- Delivery of internal training
- Keep up to date with legislation and guidance

**What we're looking for**
- A Degree or Postgraduate education in Safety, Health and Environmental Management or relevant discipline
- HSE relevant professional membership
- Excellent time management and planning skills as the SME for our Retail stores
- Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
- Be self motivated with the ability to work from home 1-2 days per week on average
- Be able to manage their own calendar and be flexible on daily working patterns
- Flexibility / versatility combined with initiative, drive, and ability to manage your own workload and priorities

This field based role will require you to spend time away during the week and some home working. General working pattern will be Monday - Friday with very occasional travel on the weekend. Travel to the DFS Group Support Centre in Doncaster will be required for meetings. The ability to travel is therefore a requirement of the job.
