**Job description**:
The Department for Education is looking for a talented Digital Content Producer with a flair for bringing stories, announcements and complex policies to life on social media, through a range of digital storytelling formats and channels.

Working with communications colleagues, you’ll devise concepts, create content (be it copywriting, filming, editing or graphic design) and proudly publish it, as well as evaluating to assess success and help us on our journey towards continuous improvement and a more data-driven approach.

You’ll be part of an ambitious Digital Engagement team who are passionate about delivering inspiring content to help explain our work through the voices of learners, teachers, parents and Ministers.

You’ll be comfortable behind a camera or in front of an edit on your computer and enjoy pushing creative boundaries of storytelling and trying out innovative approaches. You’ll help to judge when content is best suited coming from the Department’s own channels, or whether it’s better to work with third parties to effectively communicate with the audience you’re aiming to reach.

In this role, you’ll lead on multiple projects with differing deadlines and be expected to be able to prioritise and reallocate resources when appropriate. Using your expertise and experience, you’ll also provide valuable advice and guidance to other teams at the Department, senior colleagues, Special Advisers and ministers.

**Person specification**:
**Essential Criteria**:

- You’re a social media native with a track record of making creative content to a high standard and comfortable with all steps in the process: planning, filming, editing, copywriting, production, and promotion.
- You’ll be regarded as a great team player, collaborator, and proactive problem solver, committed to continually improve your work through insight and evaluation.
- Good communication, presentation and organisation skills, along with meticulous attention to detail are also important.
- You’ll be adept at project management, with excellent planning, prioritisation, and organisational abilities and able to work with a team of cross-communication professionals to deliver your plans. You’ll be able to work well under pressure and to short deadlines and expected to have a good awareness of the news agenda.

The Department for Education’s Social Media team is committed to driving up the digital skills of communications colleagues, so you’ll be expected to help train and upskill them on content production.

**Desirable criteria**:
Experience in Adobe Premiere Pro and other Adobe products desirable but not essential.

Desirable criteria will only be assessed in the event of a tie break situation to make an informed decision.
