Food Technologist

Are you a food technologist looking to join a well-known Food Manufacturer in Ayrshire? Our client is a dedicated group of people who strive to provide exemplary service both within the company and beyond and are looking for a Food Technologist to join their team.

**The Role**
- Your responsibilities will be based on the provision of technical expertise, to their customers, suppliers and throughout the business.
- You will advise on legal, safety and quality standards and provide specialist technical support to all functions within the business

**The skills needed for this role**
- To provide technical support to the technical manager and wider team
- Understanding of BRC and retailer standards, Salsa, Compass, EHO, etc,
- Knowledge of food manufacturing, ideally short shelf-life, ambient products, and meat products
- Knowledge of recipe control systems
- Understanding of basic microbiology and food chemistry
- Conversant with Microsoft office
- Attention to detail, organised, and methodical approach to work
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities
- Ability to communicate at all levels within the business
- Good understanding of GMP
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A team player, with the ability to work independently and manage your own workload

**Qualifications**
- Food Science related Degree is preferred nut no essential
- Food Safety level 3
- HACCP level 2
- Internal auditing qualification
- Familiar with retailer portals and reporting systems

**Benefits**
- Hours: Generally Monday - Friday, 08:00 to 16:00 however are flexible around your needs
- Salary: £23k to £25k DOE
