**Description of Department**:
The P&P Hub is a unit covers various thematic areas, including hate crime, designing out crime, problem solving, mental health and suicide prevention, homelessness and rough sleeping, drugs, and alcohol. The Hub is there to provide specialist advice and support to dedicated ward officers and the wider force.
This role is based within the Partnership and Prevention hub, based in Bishopsgate Police Station.
This role will be working with part of a team of Subject Matter Experts (SME) within the hub, supervised by a Sergeant and managed by an Inspector.
This role is crucial in achieving the Force Policing plan objectives of Keeping the City safe, the Force 10 year drugs and Serious and Organised crime strategy along with reducing Anti-Social behaviour and the fear of crime in line with the Force Neighbourhood Policing Strategy.
The supply of drugs and links to gangs, violence and acquisitive crime are set out in the 2021 UK Government 10-year drug plan, to cut crime and save lives. Organised crime groups are known to operate in the City. There are also links to drug use and supply in the night-time economy. Due to the extensive transport hubs and our surrounding boroughs, county lines activity regularly passes through the City policing area. Our activity in this plan fully supports the new national strategy. We will also make full use of powers to prevent reoffending.
**The role will involve**:
- Collaborate with police specialised units, to target drug issues in the city, by planning tactics and operations to target drug activity.
- Coordinate activity to raise awareness about the risks and consequences of drug and alcohol abuse.
- Work with treatment providers, the Licensing Team and other stakeholders to develop strategies for drug prevention, alcohol safety and rehabilitation.
- Attend meetings, conferences, and training sessions related to drug/alcohol enforcement and prevention on behalf of CoLP.
- Assist the Force Drugs lead and Prevent leads in driving drugs enforcement in the City.
- Regular liaison with the Licencing Team regarding alcohol and drug related criminality.
- Review, coordinate and disseminate intelligence to both internal and external resources, where risks are identified
- Deliver presentations and workshops internally and externally.
- Prepare reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders as requested.
**Key Skills**:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels with both internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- Be able to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills (operations, meetings, events etc.).
- The ability to work effectively in a pressurised environment and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proven administrative skills and the ability to produce management reports when required.
- Be fully operational and fully deployable.
