The Emergency Planning Resilience and Response (EPRR) Team at University Hospitals of Leicester is advertising for a 18-months position (with the potential of permanent appointment) for an EPRR Officer.

We are a friendly and enthusiastic team, passionate about the field of EPRR and committed to providing quality advice and guidance. We are looking for someone with similar attitudes, who can work both independently as well as part of a team, to join us and help develop UHL further.

Your work will be central to supporting the Trust in achieving and maintaining compliance against the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, and any associated EPRR guidance, including NHS England’s Core Standards for EPRR.

As the EPRR Officer, you will support the Trust by reviewing and updating a number of existing plans, supporting the roll-out of training and exercising programmes across the Trust and get involved in the response to any potential incidents or emergencies.

You will also support the team in coordinating all communications for external partners including commissioners and regulators. These can have time sensitive requirements and need to be treated with utmost confidence and professionalism.

Key job responsibilities are to support the implementation of an effective emergency planning work programme for University Hospitals of Leicester. This will be achieved specifically through the review, development and roll-out of a variety of plans, training packages and exercises. This will include:

- To support the EPRR team in the development and maintenance of plans (including business continuity plans);
- Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues to internal and external stakeholders in preparation, response and recover for a variety of scenarios;
- To support and deliver agreed training for staff;
- To support the EPRR Team in the coordination of the Single Point of Contact (coordinating communications from external partners, commissioners and regulators to relevant parts of the Trust).

**The key result areas of the job entails**:
Policy -To be responsible for the ongoing development, review, and implementation of the Trust’s Business Continuity Management Policy. This should ensure the relevant requirements of NHS England’s core standards for EPRR and ISO: 22301 are implemented across the organisation as required.

EPRR Work Programme -To support the EPRR Team in ensuring the Trust has in place an ambitious EPRR Work Programme with the aim of ensuring continued improvement and establishing best practice within EPRR.

Risk Assessment -To work closely with Business Continuity Leads and the wider EPRR Team to support them identify, assess and manage risks which may impact their ability to continue to deliver ‘caring at its best’ and to include these on the Trust risk register where appropriate.

Develop Emergency Plans

To support the EPRR Team in the development of robust plans which will support the Trust and its stakeholders respond to incidents and emergencies.

Training and Exercising -To support the design and delivery of the EPRR Team’s training and exercising programme to ensure Trust staff are competent and confident at delivering any role they may be assigned during an incident or an emergency.

Support UHL Response to Incidents -To provide support and advice during incidents to the Trust’s incident coordination teams.

Professional Relationships -Represent the Trust and promote its interests at national, regional and local meetings, events and conferences and disseminate relevant information to staff at UHL. In addition, develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including closely collaborating with multi-agency partners across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland.
