Our client is looking for an HSEQ Assistant on a permanent basis, located in Aberdeen.

**ROLE**

In the role of HSEQ Assistant you are expected to be a pro-active member of the team by providing practical and administration support to the HSEQ Advisor, primarily in maintaining the company documented HSEQ management systems, policies and procedures that ensure our staff stay safe.

As well as maintaining the documented HSEQ management systems to keep them current the HSEQ Assistant will also assist with internal & client audits, support any incident/accident investigations plus supporting the HSEQ Advisor in providing guidance to leaders on how to comply with the law.

The role will also involve assisting the various teams and managers by recognising hazards and seeking to minimise risks whilst creating, maintaining, and improving the health, safety, environmental and quality standards. Under guidance of the HSEQ Advisor you will champion HSEQ initiatives in the workplace whilst ensuring that legislation is adhered to.

The role of the Health and Safety Assistant supports in providing essential knowledge and advice by promoting continuous improvement and safe working practices.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Help develop and maintain Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Assist HSEQ Advisor to maintain compliance with HSE legislative requirements, provide admin support as required.
- Support HSEQ Advisor with planning, co-ordination, and delivery of internal audits. Close out of assurance actions in a timely manner ensuring that findings are reported and shared appropriately and opportunities for improvement sought.
- Aid the HSEQ Advisor to ensure the Company is able to respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Assist with incident investigations in recording and reporting all incidents to allow identification of causes and which will allow recommendations to prevent recurrence be decided by management team.
- In conjunction with the HSEQ Advisor produce and communicate safety alerts following incidents to promote learning and prevention.
- Support HSEQ management system audits and implement recommendations to maintain ISO 9001/ 45001 compliance.
- Actively participate in and promote company health and safety campaigns, policies, and procedures, and always ensures personal safety and that of colleagues.
- Monitoring and improving workplace regulations in collaboration with HSEQ Advisor and senior management.
- Assist with regular inspections of the workplace, site, and plant.
- Manage company calibrated equipment including swage dies register. (Supported by QC team)
- Manage and control issue safety and personal protective equipment ensuring are used following manufacturer’s instructions.
- Operational support and organising toolbox meetings/team briefings.
- Any other relevant duties as directed by line management.

- Assist to develop, maintain & implement Company procedures.
- Prevent unsafe acts and promote Safety Observation System.
- Help the HSEQ Advisor manage the implementation of HSE initiatives.
- Intervene at unsafe acts. Actively support company “Stop the Job” policy
- Be pro-active and promote a positive overall QHSE culture.
- Report all accidents & incidents immediately.
