We are looking for an efficient, hard working individual who can work well within a small team as part of our Exeter branch.

As our Fitter/Driver, you will be kept busy doing ‘test & run’ for our light and medium Tools and plant equipment and delivering/collecting machines from our customers. You will be expected to work flexibly between technical and driving tasks throughout the day depending on the push and pull of the workload and the staffing levels.

Some of the machinery that you could get the chance to work on is small excavator engines, transmission systems, hydraulics, electronics, pneumatic, and parts of plant chassis/frames, such as tracks, wheels and booms. You will have the chance to service and repair anything from generators, compressors and concrete mixers to compacting machines, (road rollers/plates), powered hand tools and disc cutters.

As our Fitter/Driver, you’ll also step in when the other Driver needs extra support with the deliveries. You’ll load up the equipment onto your van and you take your coffee ‘to-go’ because you need to deliver the equipment straight to the client. When you arrive on site, you will advise on the use of the machines, carefully check the technical condition of them and make sure that the administration is done correctly. Your eye for detail is really important here

At the end of the hire period, you will collect the equipment from the customer and bring it back to the branch. This way, it can be cleaned and checked, so we can make the next customer happy again

You’ll never get bored at south west tool hire, that’s for sure Your working hours will be Monday to Friday, 0730hrs to 1700hrs.

Ideally you will have some experience within the tool/plant hire industry and may suit someone with engineering/mechanical experience.
- Hours: 7.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday
- 20 Days holiday + Bank holidays
- Work uniform provided
- Over 25 only
- Driving licence which enables you to tow preferable
- Salary negotiable

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
